Garrett Bartus Named AHA Goaltender of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - UConn men's hockey sophomore goaltender Garrett Bartus (St. Charles, Ill.) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association Goaltender of the Week on Monday. Bartus stopped 40 shots to lead the Huskies to a 3-3 tie at No. 7 Maine. Bartus stopped 18-straight shots from the third period into overtime to keep the Huskies in the game. Bartus also denied 15 shots while on the penalty kill, including three shots during a Maine 5-on-3 power-play for over a minute in overtime.
This is Bartus' second time earning AHA Goaltender of the Week honors. Bartus was named AHA Goaltender and Rookie of the Week after stopping 27 shots to lead UConn over Bentley in the opening round of the AHA playoffs.
UConn will be in action next with a 7 p.m. contest at Merrimack on Saturday, October 16.
