Fugowski, Richards Named NSCAA All-Northeast Region

Vote For Elise Fugowski As Regional and National Player of the Year
Storrs, Conn. - It was announced by the NSCAA that seniors Elise Fugowski (Stockholm, N.J.) and Kacey Richards (Williamstown, N.J.) have been named All-Northeast Region. Richards was named to the First Team while Fugowski was placed on the Second Team. This award comes after both players were named BIG EAST Conference First-Team All-Stars at the conference banquet in November.
Richards concludes her impressive career at Connecticut with the All-New England First-Team Selection. This is the first NSCAA All-Northeast Region Honor for Richards. As a freshman, she was named to the Soccer America ¬All-Freshmen Team. Richards has also been named NEWISA All-New England in 2008 and 2009.
Richards has been honored by the BIG EAST as an All-Conference selection all-four years in Storrs. Along with her First-Team Honors in 2010, she was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team in 2009 and 2007 while being named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2008.
Richards finished her career with 3 goals and 10 assists for 16 points.
The NSCAA All-Northeast Region honor for Fugowski is another award for the attacking center-midfielder after a career year. She finished the season with five goals and four assists for 14 points, equaling her total from the previous three years at Connecticut. After four years, Fugowski finished her career with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points.
Along with the First-Team All-BIG EAST accolades, Fugowski was recently nominated for the Soccer News Net National and Regional Player of the Year awards. Fans can vote for Fugowski by CLICKING HERE. Fan voting counts for 40-percent of the total votes.
The Huskies finished the 2010 season with a 10-10-3 mark concluding with a 1-0 loss to Hofstra in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
