Cecco Fourth In Three-Meter At NCAA Zones

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - University of Connecticut senior Stephen Ferreira (Madison, Conn.) finished fourth in the one-meter event at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Saturday. Ferreira also won the three-meter title on Friday. Michael McDonald of Virginia Tech won the one-meter title.
Ferreira will now compete at the NCAA Championships in the one-meter, which take place March 25-27 in Columbus, Ohio. Sophomore Brad Schott (Wilton, Conn.) finished in 23rd in Saturday's competition while freshman Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y) was 34th and junior Adam Genuario (Norwalk, Conn.) was 37th.
Husky freshman Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y) of the women's team was fourth in the three-meter event with 592.30 points. Cecco will now have to await the results of Sunday's platform diving competition to see if she will earn a spot at the NCAA national championship in the three-meter. Amanda Burke of Rider won the three-meter event.
