Mike Olt Wins 2010 BIG EAST Home Run Derby

CLEARWATER, Fla. - UConn junior Mike Olt won the inaugural BIG EAST Home Run Derby on Tuesday night at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.
Olt put on an impressive show in both rounds of the first BIG EAST Home Run Derby, sending the ball over the fence on four of his 10 swings in each round.
The UConn third baseman recorded 420 points in the first round of the home run derby as all hitters earned 100 points for each homer hit and 10 points for any ball hit into the outfield.
Olt entered the final round of the derby in second place and recorded 450 points with four home runs to take the BIG EAST Home Run Derby crown.
Olt will lead the Huskies against Cincinnati today at Bright House Field in BIG EAST Baseball Championship action.
