Gagnon, Rutt's NCAA Run Comes To An End

EUGENE, Ore. - The NCAA Championship run has come to an end for University of Connecticut men's track and field athletes Brian Gagnon and Mike Rutt. The duo finished 12th and 13th respectively in the 800 meter run semifinals, Wednesday.
Gagnon crossed the line fifth in his heat and 12th overall with a time of 1:47.40 while Rutt finished sixth in his heat and 13th overall with a time of 1:47.56.
The race was paced by Robby Andrews of Virginia who crossed the line in 1:45.54. He was the lone runner to come across in a sub-1:46 time and the first to do so in the 2010 season.
UConn decathlete Sean Smith will begin his competition at the meet on Thursday, June 10 at 10 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET
