STORRS, Conn. - UConnHuskies.com is excited to introduce the new HuskyVision multimedia player, your online channel for the most video coverage of Husky athletics.In the fall, HuskyVision presents live coverage of the Tuesday weekly press conference with football coach Randy Edsall. There are also video highlights of each football game along with game replays of selected games. In addition, there is home game coverage of UConn men's soccer, women's soccer, field hockey and volleyball.
The winter brings postgame press conference coverage of home men's and women's basketball games in addition to highlights and certain game replays. HuskyVision also brings you game coverage of the UConn women's ice hockey team.
In the spring, it is on to Husky baseball and softball home game coverage.
New features to the player include expanded video navigation controls, such as video jogging for fast forwarding and rewinding, and advanced search functions to help you get the content you crave. The new on-page video player interface is at a 16:9 aspect ratio offering a full-screen mode and is compatible with Adobe Flash-enabled web browsers.
Menus are now in a tab format and contain preview thumbnails of video items for easy navigation of content. Viewers can sort videos by most recent, by sport, by featured channels or by live events only. Each tab offers additional filtering options to help viewers find their content quickly.
More advanced search features allow users to search by keyword or within a date range. Users can further narrow their advanced searches by sport, channel and category.
UConnHuskies.com now makes it easier for fans to share their favorite videos with their friends and family. Unique public video links allow for easy link sharing while "Share" options within the video player allow users to send links directly to social networking sites. Fans can also send video links directly to friends with the "Email to a Friend" function.
HuskyVision is an online subscription streaming multimedia service that offers live and on-demand streaming audio and video of UConn Athletics and other features highlighting Husky teams, coaches and student-athletes.
UConn fans wishing to get the most online video coverage of Husky Athletics can purchase a monthly subscription at $9.95, or upgrade to an annual subscription for $79.95.
UConnHuskies.com is offering a free trial period to all fans and alumni until August 9. On August 9, premium content will be available only to subscribers.
Current subscribers can log in on August 9 and start accessing premium content immediately.
