Head Coach Randy Edsall
On the decision to switch QBs for the second half:
"I think Cody (Endres) did a great job of keeping himself in shape (while suspended). He's one of those guys who has the ability to rally guys and have an influence on the team. I'll give him credit, because it wasn't until Wednesday that he was getting more than one rep (in practice). Zach (Frazer) was getting four, Mike (Box) was getting two, and Cody was getting one up until the middle of Wednesday's practice. I saw something in the two-minute drill when I told Cody to start taking the two reps and Mike to start taking the one. I knew in my mind that if I needed to switch, Cody would be the guy, and thank goodness it worked out."
On QB Cody Endres' performance vs. Buffalo:
"Cody can throw the ball. His biggest thing is staying focused all of the time. When he does, he plays the game pretty good. There are things we saw in Spring practice, and--well, he eliminated himself in the preseason--but today we didn't see those things...Cody came in and did what we asked him to do, and now I think he's earned his right to be the starter."
On the decision to give TB Robbie Frey carries:
"Robbie was full-go--the trainers had cleared him. I just thought coming into the game that we would play D.J. (Shoemate) and Meme (Wylie), and Robbie would stick to special teams. I asked him coming into the game and he said he was fine, and as the game went on we found out that Robbie is now our number two or number one guy based on Jordan's (Todman) situation."
On replacing LB Greg Lloyd with LB Sio Moore, and what the future holds for the depth chart:
"I think those are the two best linebackers we have right now--Lawrence Wilson and Sio Moore. That's the direction we're going to go. I sat down with the defensive coaches and talked personell like we always do. We evaluate ourselves all the time too. We had two penalties for twelve guys on the field and I'll take the blame. It isn't going to happen anymore. But to answer your question, I think that what you saw defensively out there today is going to be the way we're going to go, and what you saw offensively towards the end is the way we're going also."
Junior Quarterback Cody Endres (#12)
"It's a little bit like riding a bike. I started off well and the receivers were doing a good job getting open and the linemen were doing a good job protecting me."
"I like to have fun out there and I think everyone's having fun out there with me."
"I kept working out and I threw a lot of balls and that's about it. The timing has come back to me quickly so I'm happy about that."
Junior Tailback Robbie Frey (#44)
"Cody prepared the same way any backup should and the same way I prepare every week. When he got his call, he went out and performed well."
"Coming into the game I didn't expect as many carries as I got, but I was prepared so when they called me in, I went and performed to the best of my ability."
Buffalo Quotes
Head Coach Jeff Quinn
Opening Statement: Not the kind of outcome we expected. Going in at halftime tied, 14-14, I really felt the kids were adjusted to the things UConn was doing. We made a couple things, nothing drastic at halftime but coming out in the second half, we gotta set the tone on special teams, set the tone on defense and they did a good job they only gave up three points, but then some big plays took place turnovers things that have been kind of hampering us all year. Turnovers and miscues, obviously key situations not being able to capitalize. We had some things open that I felt really good about but it just wasn't our day, and certainly we're gonna get this thing right
On the team
These are our players, these are our guys, this is our team, and you have to develop them and you have to continue believing in these young men because that's the only way this thing's gonna get back on track getting ready for the MAC, for MAC play.

On Ed Young's day
That's a great thing, here's a guy you don't hear a lot about…I keep telling these guys this is how this all works in this business. You may go with a catch or two in the first couple weeks and all the sudden you have a big day. All I ask them to do is be ready every day, bring your A-game every single day and these moments will take place, and here's a prime example of that happening and, I couldn't be more proud of Eddie, being ready to go and answering the bell when he did.
On the UConn running back corps:
That's what they do, they run the ball, and their strong runners, and they broke tackles. In the second half that is what they came out to do and it paid off for them.
Ed Young (WR) on the challenged TD
I knew I was in, me and Jerry locked eyes when he was passing it to me, I caught it, kept it. When I looked at the replay it looked like my leg kind of went up, but I was most definitely thought, knew, I was in.
Steven Means (DE) on the game:
The first half was UB Football, the second half we played ok football, that's not good enough at this level
Davonte Shannon (FS) on entering conference play:
It's important that we're locked in and we focus all week.
