Huskies Sweep Hartford, 7-0

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis squad completed its second dual match of the season and swept Hartford, 7-0. The Huskies are now 2-0 in dual matches and have handled both opponents with ease. UConn previously dispatched Siena, 6-1.
The Huskies were sensational from top to bottom in their latest performance. Senior Scott Warden and freshman Jacob Spreyer downed their opponents, 8-5. The duo broke serve midway through and finished strong for the No. 1 doubles victory.
Senior Jai Yoon and junior Wei Lin took down the No. 2 doubles, 8-2. The UConn duo was able to control the net up front and kept Hartford in the back court. At No. 3 doubles, sophomore Teddy Margules and freshman Peter Surovic utilized their serving game to keep control of the match. They came away with an 8-2 victory.
Warden took control of No. 1 singles as well, winning 6-2, 6-3. Yoon needed three sets to earn the victory at No. 2 but dominated the third set, 6-2. Surovic saw similar results at No. 4. He went up 6-4, 4-6, and blanked the Hartford opponent in the third set, 6-0.
At No. 3 singles, Wei Lin came away with a 6-4, 6-2 result. Spreyer opened the singles play for UConn at No. 5 and routed his opponent, 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Ryan Carr had a convincing victory in his first competition since suffering an injury last year. He took his match quickly, 6-0, 6-3.
UConn will compete next at the Quinnipiac Invitational from October 7-9.
