Cole Schneider Named All-Rookie

Rochester, N.Y. - It was announced tonight at the Atlantic Hockey Association annual awards banquet that UConn freshman forward Cole Schneider has been named to the All-Rookie Team.
Schneider has led UConn to the AHA Semifinals for the first time since 2006-07. The No. 6-seeded Huskies will face No. 1 RIT at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. on Friday at 4:05 p.m.
Schneider, a Williamsville, N.Y. native, has led UConn in scoring throughout the season. The rookie wing leads the team with 19 assists and 31 points this season to go along with 12 goals.
Schneider recorded a career night on December 4 in an 8-5 victory over Niagara. On the night, he notched a hat trick and an assist to lead the Huskies. It was UConn's first hat trick in over two years. Throughout the season, Schneider has notched seven multi-point games.

A victory over RIT will put UConn in the AHA Championship for the first time in the leagues eight-year history. UConn will face either No. 2 Air Force or No. 3 Holy Cross at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 19.
