Huskies Fall to Nationally-Ranked Hokies

PUERTO RICO - The UConn women's tennis team fell to the nationally-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Puerto Rico.
Despite the Hokies shutting out the Huskies, UConn competed hard and had solid play against a very talented program in Virginia Tech.
Freshman Lucy Nutting battled for the Huskies in No. 6 singles, winning the first set 7-6 before falling in the next two 6-0, 10-8.
Jennifer Learmonth and Emily Herb dropped an 8-2 decision in No. 1 doubles, while Alexa Gregory and Abby McKeon fell 8-1 in No. 2 doubles. In No. 3 action, Katie Moritz and Marie Gargiulo fell 8-1.
