Women's Tennis Edges Bryant 4-3

PUERTO RICO - The UConn women's tennis team came out and swept doubles competition to lead the Huskies to a 4-3 victory over Bryant on Monday.
In singles, Abby McKeon was the key factor as she won her match to clinch the 3-3 tie in singles competition. McKeon came from behind in the three-set win to give UConn the eventual win.
Jennifer Learmonth and Emily Herb led the Huskies in the doubles' sweep as they downed Claudia Hidalgo and Lucy Bird 8-3 in No. 1 doubles.
In No. 2 action, McKeon and teammate Alexa Gregory shutout Mary Vickers and Irma Rodriguez Lockwood 8-0, while in No. 3 doubles, Katie Moritz and Maria Gargiulo defeated Steph Smyers and Valeria Couto Cuervo 8-3.
In singles action, the Huskies won the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 matches as Alexa Gregory defeated Smyers 6-2, 6-2. McKeon won her match 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, coming from behind for the victory, while Lucy Nutting defeated Irma Rodriguez Lockwood 6-2, 6-3.
