The Huskies enter Thursday's game with a perfect 2-0 record against the Bearcats, winning last season's game 12-11 and 2009's game, 11-9. Six current Huskies have recorded points against Cincinnati in the past two contests, led by Kiersten Tupper (Camillus, N.Y.) who has recorded two goals and five assists. The Huskies will also try to keep their home record against Louisville perfect on Saturday, as UConn was victorious in the previous meeting at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex, 8-7 during the 2009 season. UConn is 31-25 all-time at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex, including a 2-2 record this season.
With three goals against Notre Dame last weekend, M.E. Lapham (Cazenovia, N.Y.) extended her goal-scoring streak to 35 straight games. Over those 35 games Lapham has tallied 101 goals, including 22 games with three or more goals. She also extended her point streak to 36 games after last weekend, and has now posted 116 points in the past 36 contests.
Lapham and Tupper continue to make an impact on the UConn career record book, as they rank in the top-10 in four categories combined. Lapham is currently fourth with 106 goals, fifth with 260 shots and sixth with 123 points while Tupper ranks third with 60 assists and ninth with 113 points.
Cincinnati enters Thursday's contest on a seven-game losing streak, with its last victory coming against Detroit back in the middle of March. The Bearcats, who have been led offensively by Katie Liberatore (17G, 14A), will also be searching for their first conference victory on Thursday. Louisville is coming off back-to-back BIG EAST victories, as they defeated Rutgers (10-8) and Villanova (16-4) last weekend. The Cardinal defense has held its opponents to less than 10 goals during seven games this season, while leading the BIG EAST in scoring with 14.57 goals per game. Emily Dashiell extended her goal-scoring streak to 32 straight games while also setting a Louisville record for draw controls in a season with 68 so far.
