Men's and Women's Tennis Earns ITA Academic Awards

STORRS, Conn. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its team and individual academic awards and the UConn men's and women's tennis programs were both honored as ITA All-Academic Teams. The men's team had three individual honorees while the women's squad had five student-athletes honored.
In order to qualify, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letter winner, 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).
UConn men individual honorees; recent graduate Andrew Marcus and seniors Dave Adams (Andover, Mass.) and Scott Warden (Boardman, Ohio).
UConn women individual honorees; recent graduates Katie Moritz and Emily Serale, junior Sarah Griffin (Cheshire, Conn.), junior Lauren Rothermich (Sutton, Mass.) and sophomore Jennifer Learmonth (York, Pa.).
