Huskies Knocked Out Early in Coastal Classic Opener vs. UAB

Senior righty Dillon Napoleon moved to 3-1 with the win for UAB. He tossed seven shutout innings and gave up five hits, walked four and struck out three. Ward's day was done after 1.2 innings, six hits, seven runs, three walks and four strikeouts as he lost his first decision, falling to 3-1.
Three pitchers came out of the bullpen for UConn, with all three allowing at least one run. The Huskies' pen gave up eight runs on 12 hits and five walks in 7.1 innings.
