Vaughan Named To Academic All-District Softball Team

STORRS, Conn. (May 4, 2012) - Husky senior outfielder Amy Vaughan was named to the Capital one Academic All-District 1 Team. The Somerset, Mass. native is a double major in American Studies and Political Science and holds a 3.75 GPA.
The 2012 Capital One Academic All?]District ® Softball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student?]athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All?]America teams programs in 2011.
Vaughan concluded the 2012 regular season as the team leader with a .306 batting average and .938 fielding percentage. The outfielder led the squad in homeruns with 13 as she broke UConn's all-time single season mark for homeruns. With 45 hits on the season Vaughan also sat in the top spot for RBI with 42.
