Husky Teams Honored At State Capitol

HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's basketball, women's basketball , field hockey and football teams were honored at the State Capitol in Hartford on April 30 as part of the annual Husky Day Festivities. The UConn men's basketball, women's basketball and field hockey teams each won NCAA championships this past year and the event was the State Capitol debut of new UConn head football coach Bob Diaco. Diaco, men's basketball coach Kevin Ollie, women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma and field hockey coach Nancy Steven all spoke at the event. Governor Dannel Malloy was among a number of dignitaries that saluted the Husky teams during the presentation.
