Huskies fall to Embry-Riddle 8-1

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The UConn men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Embry-Riddle on Tuesday in their second match of their annual spring break trip. The Huskies fell to 2-10 on the season with the loss. The match was played on a nine-point system with each doubles and singles match counting for a point.
The lone UConn victory came from sophomore Christopher Toner (South Hamilton, Mass.) who picked up a win at #3 singles. Toner posted a three-set win over Fabian Zierleyn, dropping the first set 6-4 and rebounding for a 6-2, 11-9 win. It was Toner's second-straight singles win on the spring trip.
Senior Peter Surovic (Czech Republic) lost a three-set battle at #6 with Rodolfo Arreygue, 6-4, 6-7 (7), 10-3.
The Huskies close out their spring break trip to Florida on Wednesday when they take on Bethune-Cookman.
