POSTGAME QUOTES - No. 9 Seton Hall Pirates
Anthony Bozzella, Seton Hall Head Coach
On tonight's officiating:
"I did not coach very well, and it put us in a poor position. The amount of respect I have for Denise, Frank, and Tiara is tremendously high. I think Denise Brooks is the best official in the game. Tiara and Frank are top level officials. 50-50 calls sometimes go against you, but when you're scrambling, and coming back, you think all the 50-50 calls go against you, but they don't. They officiated fine."
On Rutgers' high performance:
"Here's a team that had never made more than six three's all year. Laney never made more than two three's in her career. If you want to place blame, place it with the scouting report and the scout. Laney's shots at the end of the game were what a senior needs to do. We covered her and she still made them, and that's why she's a great player. They are also more experienced in these types of games, and it showed."
Ka-Deidre Simmons, Seton Hall Guard
On attempting to create a comeback:
"They made big shots. They shot three's very well, which is something they've struggled with all year. We are a team that continues to fight, but we were tired."
On the player's enjoyment of the game:
"For the fans, it was definitely a fun game. It was fun for us, being in the sense that we had not been in this position before. But it was frustrating, so I can't say it was a fun game for us. We would have liked to come out on top, but it was enjoyable for the fans and this is something that should happen every year."
