Road Closures on Sunday, Oct. 16

STORRS, Conn. - Road closures on the UConn campus are planned for this Sunday, Oct. 16 due to the Huskies Forever 5K and Homecoming Parade planned this weekend. From approximately 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., certain roads will be blocked off for the events.
Fans planning to attend the women's soccer (12 p.m.), women's volleyball (12 p.m.), men's tennis (1 p.m.) or field hockey (2 p.m.) events on campus should check the list of closures below for parking purposes.
Homecoming and Huskies Forever Weekend schedule:
Sunday October 16, 2016
8:30AM to 10:00AM - Huskies Forever 5K
The Huskies Forever 5k will be starting and finishing on Alumni Drive at the Alumni Center. The race will affect all of the following roadways
- Alumni Drive (closure near Alumni Center begins at 8:30am)
- Hillside Road from Alumni Drive to Gilbert Road
- Glenbrook Road
- Mansfield Busway
- Gilbert Road
- Jim Calhoun Way

10:00AM to 1:00PM - Homecoming Parade and Carnival in South Campus
- Starting at 10AM until 1:00pm Glenbrook Road will be shut down
- From 12:00pm (noon) until 1:00pm the following roads will be shut down for the parade procession.
- Glenbrook Road
- Hillside Road from Glenbrook to Gilbert Road.
- Gilbert Road
Please be advised to avoid these areas during these times as there will be increased foot traffic.
