Huskies Finish 15th in NCAA Regionals

BRONX, N.Y. - The UConn women's cross country team completed its fall season in the Northeast Regionals on Friday Nov. 11, finishing 15th in the team standings out of 37 competing teams.
UConn finished the 6K race with 446 points and had four runners placed inside the top-100. Providence won the meet for the second-straight season with a meet score of 50.
Sophomore Courtney Ackerley was the Huskies top finisher, placing 68th overall (21:56.50), averaging a pace 5:54. Ackerley beat her Northeast regional time last year of 22:27.
Sophomore Haley Hasty (22:06.30) came in 84th besting her time from last year by more than two minutes (24:17). In their first NCAA Regional , Mary Monda Oewel (22:11.10) and Lauren Scahill (22:20.00) also finished in the top 100.
Lindsey Kane(107,22:22.30), Ericka Randazzo (123, 22:37.70) and Danielle Jordan (133, 22:43.10) completed the lineup for UConn as the fall season came to a close. The Huskies future is bright with six of the seven racers for UConn being underclassmen.
The 2016 season was highlighted by a second-place finish in the Rothenburg Run on Oct. 14.
