SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The UConn men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Point Loma Nazarene University in their third match of their California spring break trip. The Huskies also dropped an 8-0 decision to Azusa Pacific earlier in the week.
Point Loma, ranked #27 in the Division II national poll, took five of the six singles matches and two of three doubles matches en route to the win. UConn got a pair of victories thanks to the freshmen combo of Justin Warren (Durham, N.C.) and Hank Hill (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.).
Warren posted a 6-1, 6-3 win at #3 singles, beating Point Loma's James Tenbroeck. Warren and Hill also teamed for a doubles victory, beating Adrian von Braun and CJ Erion at #2 doubles, 8-3. Warren picked-up his team-leading 10th singles victory.
The Huskies will close out their west coast trip on Thursday afternoon with a match-up at Claremont-Mudd-Scripts.
