Women's XC Continues Regular-Season Action on Friday

Meet Information
BOSTON - After opening its season with a fourth-place finish at the Minuteman Invitational, the UConn women's cross country team returns to competition on Friday, Sept. 16 when it heads to Boston, Mass. to participate in the 2016 Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown. Action at historic Franklin Park is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

UConn opened its 2016 season on Sept. 10 in Amherst, finishing the seven-team meet with 93 total points as Boston College emerged with the event win with 30 points. As a team, UConn averaged a 18:30 second finish in the 5K race and tallied three top-25 individual finishers overall.
Sophomore standout Ericka Randazzoshined, taking fourth overall with a 18:00.3 second finish, averaging 5:47.7 seconds per mile. Freshman Danielle Jordanopened her collegiate career with a 14 th -place 18:18.4 second finish, while teammate Mary Monda Oewelplaced 22 ndwith a time of 18:38.0. Senior Sydnee Overdelivered a top-30 individual performance, taking 28 thafter crossing the line in 18:47.0.
The Huskies competed in the event a season ago, taking 12th place in a meet that featured athletes from many of the top schools from the Northeast Region, including No. 1 Providence, No. 2 Syracuse and No. 3 Dartmouth. To view the recap of the 2015 event, please CLICK HERE.
