WEST POINT, N.Y. – The UConn men's swim and dive team lost to Army 199-95 on Saturday afternoon at Crandall Pool.
One the men's side it was a positive day, said head coach Chris Maiello. "Although it can be difficult to find positives with the score the way it was, there were a lot of good things going on. We continue to improve in our race details. Turns, breakouts and splitting are skills we work on every week. We are now seeing productivity in those areas where in the past there has been a void of skill. Overall, up and down the line up we watched season best performances, and in this time of year, that's the goal. Although our training is wearing us down a bit, the guys raced hard"
Junior Will Kearsey won the 100 Back (48.88) and secured a runner-up finish in the 200 Back (45.58).
Freshman Jack Gray earned a third place finish in the 1000 freestyle. You can view the full results HERE.
Kyle Kennedy and Justin Corres grabbed podium finishes for the divers. Kennedy secured second place in 271.80 in the 3M while the freshman Corres took third in the 1M.
Up Next, the Huskies head to Indianapolis for the House of Champions event from Nov. 16-18.
