WSOC Falls to ECU to Close Season

GREENVILLE, N.C – The UConn women's soccer team dropped its final contest of the 2018 season, 2-0, at ECU.
The Huskies totaled 12 shots on the afternoon with four shots on goal. Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky led the Huskies with four shots, while Pato Jerzak and Regan Schiappa each had a pair.
ECU finally got on the scoreboard in the 66th minute. Jayda Hylton-Pelaia swung a cross into the box from the right wing. Cashlin Copley a was able to head home to open the scoring.
The Pirates added a goal in the 86th minute to close the game out. Kat Gonzalez won the ball deep in the Huskie box with her back to the goal. Gonzalez dropped a pass to Ashley Kendrot who took a one-time shot that beat Palacios, doubling ECU's lead.
Seniors Emily Costanzo, Heidi Druehl, Elena Santos, Liane Keegans and Kim Urbanek played their final game in a UConn uniform. Keegans completed quite a feat by starting in every game since stepping onto campus (83 games).
UConn closes the season at 4-14 overall and 2-7 in The American.
