UConn Primed for the 2018 Nutmeg Classic

STORRS, Conn. – Heading into the final stretch of games before the winter break, the UConn women's hockey team (6-7-1, 3-6-1 WHEA) will travel up the road to New Haven, Conn. to compete in the 2018 Nutmeg Classic, hosted by Yale University.
The Huskies will face off against Quinnipiac on Friday, Nov. 23 in a 3 p.m. tilt. Yale and Providence, the other two teams filling out the field, are scheduled for a 7 p.m. puck drop. The winners of the two Friday games will advance to the title game, which will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The consolation game is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Opponent and Series History…
- UConn leads the all-time series against Quinnipiac (9-8-1) and Yale (9-4-1), but trails in the series vs. Providence (19-34-7)
- Quinnipiac – Sophomore Taylor House leads the Bobcats (3-7-3) with 6 points (5g, 1a), while goaltender Abbie Ives has recorded a 1.52 GAA and a .926 save percentage in nine games.

The Huskies dropped their home-and-home series to No. 4 BC, falling 3-0 at Freitas on Friday (Nov. 16) and 4-0 back in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Leading the Pack…
Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
