UConn, Notre Dame Set for 1-2 Matchup

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 2/2 UConn women's basketball team (6-0) travels to South Bend, Ind., to face No. 1 Notre Dame (7-0) in the Jimmy V Women's Classic Sunday at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and the UConn/IMG Radio Network.
UConn is 36-12 all-time vs. Notre Dame. The Huskies are also 20-3 in games being played between the top two ranked teams with a 4-1 record against the Fighting Irish. The teams went 1-1 last season, with Notre Dame picking up a win in overtime in the NCAA Final Four.
This is UConn's eighth straight and 11th overall appearance in the Jimmy V Classic, which raises money and awareness for cancer research. The Huskies are 8-2 all-time in the Classic.
The Huskies are coming off a 99-63 win over No. 16 DePaul Wednesday. All five UConn starters scored in double digits, led by senior Napheesa Collier (24) and senior Katie Lou Samuelson (23).
This season Arike Ogunbowale leads five Irish averaging double-digit figures with 25.3 points per game. Jessica Shepard leads the team with 10.7 rebounds per game.
Earlier this week, UConn announced the signing Aubrey Griffin to next year's freshman class. The No. 33 recruit in the nation, Griffin was one of 18 finalists for the 2018 USA Basketball U-17 Team.
