STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's track & field team will host a Multi Event Challenge on Thursday, December 6th and Friday, December 7th. The event will be held in the Hugh S. Greer Field House and kicks-off on Thursday at 12 noon and on Friday at 11:30 am. Both days are open to the public.
The heptathlon begins Thursday with the 60m Dash followed by long jump, shot put and high jump. Friday's schedule starts with the 60m hurdles and will conclude with the pole vault and the 1000 meters.
Friday's schedule will also feature a pentathlon starting with the 60m hurdles and followed by high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800 meters.
For UConn, sophomore Benjamin Grosse (Wayzata, Minn.) will compete for the Huskies in a field that will feature athletes from UMass Lowell and the University of Vermont. Grosse was eighth at this event last season where his teammate Jordan Torney (Toms River, N.J.) won. Grosse had his highest finish in the heptathlon at the 2018 New England Championship where he finished fourth overall. He finished the indoor season with a seventh place finish at the IC4A Championships where he collected a season-best 4,613 points.
This will be the final event for the first semester and the Huskies will pick back up on January 12 at the Beantown Challenge at Harvard.
