Top 20 Finish For UConn's Hervol

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - UConn junior co-captain Jimmy Hervol (Hopkinton, Mass.) fired a 2-under par 70 Tuesday in the final round of the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, his second straight sub-par round, to finish in a tie for 16th place, the 15th Top 20 finish of his career.
Hervol, who improved in every round of the tournament, shot an overall 1-under 74-71-70=215 to finish as the low UConn player for the fourth time in eight events this season.
UConn redshirt sophomore Drake Hull (Rutland, Vt.) finished in a tie for 44th place in the 96-player field after shooting a 5-over 78-69-74=221, which included the second sub-70 round of his career. Junior Nick Harrington (Chaplin, Conn.) finished in a tie for 73rd with a 12-over 77-76-75=228, while junior Nabeel Khan (Westerville, Ohio) had a 14-over 75-73-82=230 to finish in a tie for 85th place and freshman Rodrigo Sanchez (Santo Domingo, D.R.) finished 88th with a 16-over 77-78-77=232.
As a team, the Huskies finished 14th in the 16-team field with an aggregate 24-over 303-289-296=888.
UConn will return to tournament action on March 23-25 in Boca Raton, Fla., competing in the FAU Slomin Autism Championship at Osprey Point Golf Course.
