Three Huskies Honored with Hockey East Postseason Awards

STORRS, Conn. - Hockey East annouced their annual post season awards on Wednesday and three Huskies took home all-conference accolades. Junior Maxim Letunov (Moscow, Russia) was named a second team Hockey East All-Star while seniors Spencer Naas (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Johnny Austin (St. Louis Park, Minn.) were recognized as All-Star Honorable Mentions.
Letunov garners all-conference accolades for the second time in his career. He was an All-Rookie team and Second Team All-Star during his freshman season in 2015-16. This season, Letunov led the Huskies in scoring with 28 points on 12 goals and 16 assists. He scored a point in 18 games this season and had a team-best seven multi-point efforts. He was tied for 15th in the league in scoring and was tied for the team lead with 11 power play points (3g/8a).
During his three seasons, he has scored 95 points on 35 goals and 60 assists in 105 career games. His 95 points are currently ninth on the UConn Division I era (1998-present) record book.
Naas and Austin both had career seasons in helping guide the Huskies to a program-best 11 Hockey East wins and a fifth place finish. Naas was second on the team in scoring with 24 points coming on 12 goals with 12 assists. He finished the season with 13 points (6g/7a) over the final 10 games which also included a career-best eight-game point streak.
For his career, Naas finished with 77 points in 143 games played. His 49 goals leave him tied for third place in the UConn Division I (1998-present) record book.
Austin's offensive production skyrocketed during his senior season. The senior defenseman posted 19 points on four goals and 15 assists and also helped fuel the Huskies power play, tying Letunov for a team-best 11 points (3g/8a). He had at least a point in 12 games and finished with six multi-point games this season.
He finished his four-year career with 44 points on eight goals and 36 assists in 127 games played.
