CHARLESTON, S.C. - The UConn baseball team begins an eight-game, 11-day spring break trip in Charleston S.C. with a four-game series against The Citadel Bulldogs.
The Huskies (5-4) look to rebound from their first series loss of the 2018 campaign at UNF. Since 2010 the Huskies have finished with a .500 record or better in six of their eight spring break trips (34-22 during span).
Series vs. The Citadel... The Huskies are 2-4 against the Bulldogs in a series that dates back to 1999. The Huskies lost a pair of three game series in 1999 and 2001 in Charleston. UConn last played in Charleston on March 19, 2013 against the College of Charleston. The Huskies grabbed a 9-4 win.
Dawgs Hitting Dingers... The Huskies have slugged nine home runs through nine games this season. The Huskies didn't reach nine home runs until April 7th in 2017. Isaac Feldstein leads the team with three homers while Troy
Stefanski and Conor Moriarty have each belted a pair.
Staten Island's Sophomore... Anthony Prato leads the team with 14 hits, six-multi hit games, .419 OBP and six stolen bases. Prato has been solid for the Huskies both at the plate and in the field. The Husky shortstop hasn't committed an error in 27 chances to open the season.
Surging Stefanski... Senior Troy Stefanski is off to his best start in a Husky uniform. The North Stonington, Conn. native leads the team with a .382 AVG and has recorded five multi-hit games. The UConn centerfielder has recorded 13 hits, a career-high two home runs and leads the team with a .977 OPS.
