Huskies Return Home, Host Villanova

STORRS, Conn. -The University of Connecticut women's lacrosse team (5-6) looks to snap a two-game skid when it hosts BIG EAST rival Villanova (5-5) on Wednesday afternoon. First draw is set for 1:00 p.m.
A Win Would...
With a win on Wednesday, UConn will improve to 2-2 in conference action. A win would end a potential three-game losing streak, which would be the longest since the 2013 season when UConn lost four-consecutive games.
The Series
Wednesday's contest marks the 10th match-up between the two teams in the sport of women's lacrosse. UConn will look to remain perfect against Villanova as the Huskies own a 9-0 advantage in the all-time series.
Last Time Out
The Huskies suffered their second BIG EAST loss to No. 8 Florida on Saturday afternoon. Despite four goals from senior Grace Nolan, the Huskies were outscored 21-8 in the contest. Freshman Stephanie Palmucci picked up her first career goal with a tally in the first half.
Leading the Pack
Grace Nolanis pacing the Huskies in points (63), goals (40) and assists (23). The senior currently leads the conference in points per game (5.90). The Marcellus, N.Y. native is second in the league with 3.60 goals per game and third overall in helpers with 2.30. Nolan and classmate Cassie Ekstrom, are boasting a team-high 27 ground balls, while Ekstrom is first on the team with 20 caused turnovers. Freshman Sydney Watson has made in immediate impact, winning a team-best 54 draw controls.
Quick on the Draw
Senior Kelsey Catalanoset a new program record in draw controls when she won 11 against Fairfield on Feb. 14.
Leaving Her Tracks
During her time in Storrs, senior Grace Nolanhas established herself as one of the most prolific scorers in program history. With a four-point performance (2g, 2a) against No. 24 Massachusetts on March 3, Nolan moved into second place all-time in career points and (218) assists (83).
Earlier this season, Nolan broke a pair of program records notching 10 points and eight goals in a victory against Butler. Last season Nolan notched 77 points which ranks second in the UConn record book for points in a single season, while her 33 helpers marked the second highest in program history.
100 and Counting...
Head Coach Katie Woodsreached a career milestone on Feb. 14 as she eclipsed the 100-win plateau with a 13-12 win against Fairfield. Woods, who has coached at UConn for eight years, set the program record for most wins by a head coach last season with 73. Woods captured 74 of her
