Huskies Drop First Game In American Championship

CLEARWATER, FLA. - The third-seeded Huskies dropped a 13-0 decision to second-seeded USF on Thursday afternoon at Robin Roberts Field in The American Championship semifinals. UConn and USF will play Friday, May 25 at Spectrum Field at a time to be determined. The game will be streamed on The American Digital Network Plus on Facebook.
USF 10-run ruled the Huskies with the game only lasting seven innings. The Bulls put together a pair of five-run frames in the third and sixth to give UConn its first loss of the double-elimination tournament.
Colby Dunlop pitched 2.2 innings for the Huskies and allowed two earned runs. The UConn defense committed two errors that led to five additional runs in the early innings.
The Huskies managed only five hits in the contest and look to bounce back against the Bulls tomorrow.
The loss drops the Huskies record to 34-19-1 overall.
