Nelson-Ododa, Williams Named to USA U18 National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Incoming UConn women's basketball freshmen Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Christyn Williams were named to the 12-player roster for the 2018 USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team.
Nelson-Ododa and Williams were named from 35 participants in a three-day trial at the United States Olympic Training Center.
Nelson-Ododa helped the 2016 U17 National Team to a bronze medal. ESPN ranked her as the No. 5 overall prospect in her class.
Williams helped Team USA to the 2017 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup gold medal and the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup silver medal. She also earned a bronze medal in the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship. A three-time Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year, Williams was named the 2018 Gatorade National Player of the Year, Naismith Player of the Year and WBCA High School Player of the Year.
The incoming duo were both named McDonald's All-Americans.
Nelson-Ododa and Williams will return to Colorado Springs for training camp on July 20 before departing with the team for the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, which will be held Aug. 1-7.
