No. 1 Huskies Blank No. 10 Syracuse, 3-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 1 UConn field hockey team moved to 6-0 with its fourth ranked win of the season as the Huskies defeated No. 10 Syracuse, 3-0, Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Jessica Dembrowski, graduate student Cecile Pieper and junior Svea Boker each scored for UConn. The Huskies and Orange tied for shots, 6-6.
Sophomore goalkeeper Cheyenne Specher made four saves to notch her third shutout of the year.
Dembrowski scored her fourth goal of the season nearly 15 minutes into the game. Pieper tallied her team-leading fifth score of the year early in the second half and Boker picked up a rebound off a penalty corner to score at 68:51.
UConn held just a 4-2 advantage in penalty corners.
The Huskies return to the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex next weekend to host Quinnipiac Saturday at noon in the teams' BIG EAST opener.
