Huskies Face Old Dominion & Fairfield This Weekend

STORRS, Conn.- UConn women's field hockey returns to action this weekend, battling BIG EAST foe Old Dominion on Friday afternoon in Storrs before hitting the road on Sunday to face Fairfield. The Huskies will face ODU in their last regular-season home game at 1:00 pm on Friday and match up against Fairfield at 12:00 pm.
The Huskies went 1-1 last weekend at home. On Friday, UConn defeated conference rival Georgetown 2-0 and suffered a close 1-0 defeat against #8 Duke on Sunday. UConn enters the weekend 7-7 on the season, with a 4-1 mark in conference play, tied with ODU for second place in the BIG EAST.
Old Dominion comes to Storrs on a three-game winning streak. The Monarchs defeated Temple 3-2 in double overtime last Friday and Delaware 2-1 on Sunday in overtime. Â In the most recent matchup between these teams, UConn emerged victorious with a 3-1 victory to secure the 2024 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship.
UConn will hit the road to face in-state opponent Fairfield on Sunday afternoon. The Stags have won nine straight games, handling Rider 7-1 last Sunday in their previous contest. UConn has won all 11 meetings in the all-time series, defeating Fairfield 2-1 in their most recent meeting in 2019.
