STORRS, Conn. – The second-ranked UConn women's basketball team (14-1, 3-0 American) faces off against Tulane (13-3, 3-0) Wednesday in New Orleans at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on SNY and the UConn/IMG Radio Network. Due to a men's basketball game, the women's game will be broadcast on The River 105.9 instead of ESPN 97-9.
The Huskies are coming off a 63-46 win over USF Sunday in Gampel Pavilion. After a slow start, head coach Geno Auriemma benched all five starters midway through the first quarter. UConn's bench players played at least seven minutes in the game.
Senior Katie Lou Samuelson became the 10th player in UConn history to reach 2,000 career points vs. the Bulls. She led the team with 19 points in the game.
Last week, Samuelson, Napheesa Collier and Crystal Dangerfield were named to the Wooden Award midseason 25-player watch list.
UConn is 89-0 in American Athletic Conference play since joining the league. The Huskies have won the conference's first five regular season and tournament titles. Including postseason play, UConn is 104-0 against American teams.
