UConn Basketball Season Has Arrived!

New Features Added at Home Games
With the both the men's and women's 2019-20 regular seasons kicking off this weekend at Gampel Pavilion, there will be some new experiences for fans attending the games – such as getting a close look at the Werth Champions Center lobby, theme nights and new additions at the concession stands, just to name a few.
In addition to continuing some of the great initiatives implemented last season, several new elements have been added for the 2019-20 season with the goal of providing the best basketball game day experience for all fans.Â
The UConn men host Sacred Heart on Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion on Huskies & Heroes Day! Free UConn camouflage fanny packs will be available for fans on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The UConn women open their season against California on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion. Opening day for the women is Ag Day! Fans who get there early can get a free UConn reusable grocery bag, first-come, first-served while supplies last.

Werth Champions Lobby
The Werth Champions Center lobby will be open to the public for one hour from 90 minutes prior to tip-off until 30 minutes prior for both men's and women's home games at Gampel Pavilion. On Friday, the lobby will be open from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Sunday the public can come in from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The Werth Family UConn Basketball Champions Center is located on Jim Calhoun Way, adjacent to Gampel Pavilion.
Gampel Pavilion Food & Beverage Offerings
There are plenty of new additions to the concession stands at Gampel for this upcoming season. The chicken tender portable food truck is now located in the west court area and will be offering a variety of special food selections each game, including chicken tenders, onions, sweet potato fries, and much more. The west court pretzel cart is now located in the West Grill area. The South and West concession stands will be offering pizza cones this season as well. All four main concession stands will also begin selling individually wrapped chocolate chip cookies.
In addition to the variety, concession prices have been reduced at Gampel this season.
Concession stands will not be selling score cards this season.
Fan Shuttles & Traffic Patterns
Fan shuttle services will be provided running routes from F Lot to Gampel and downtown Storrs to Gampel. Parking is available in the North Garage for $12 and in the South Garage for $15.
There will be two buses per route, running continuous fixed route service throughout the game, both shuttles have a 20-minute headway. Buses will begin their routes two hours before each game and will run 90 minutes after each game. The F-Lot shuttle will pick fans up in the lower F-Lot, closer to North Eagleville Road. The shuttle will drop fans off on the west side of the Werth Family Basketball Champions Center. Buses will be staged on Jim Calhoun Way in front of the Werth Family Basketball Champions Center at least 30 minutes before each game ends.
The downtown Storrs-to-Gampel shuttle will pick fans up at the Nash Zimmer Transportation Center. Fans will be dropped off at the Alumni Bus Stop on Gilbert Road. Buses will be staged at the Alumni Bus Stop 30 minutes before each game ends. The first two hours of parking in the Downtown Storrs Garage are free, with a $1 per hour charge after that.

Security & Bag Policy
Metal detectors will be in place for all 2019-2020 UConn home basketball games at Gampel Pavilion and the XL Center. Fans are encouraged to allow for extra time to enter these venues and to leave non-essential items at home. Fans will need to empty their pockets into a bin but will not need to remove their belts, shoes, coins, wallets or jewelry.
Purses and tote bags that do not exceed 12" H x 6" W x 12" L and small clutch bags are approved bags for Gampel and XL Center. All other bags are prohibited. All bags are subject to search by security personnel.

XL Center Food & Beverage Offerings
The XL Center is excited to announce new additions their food and beverage offerings.
Section 101 is now home to Randy's Wooster Street Pizza. Customers can expect traditional and unique flavors from this new location at the XL Center. Pies like peanut butter & bacon and macaroni & cheese are just a few of the unique pizzas on the menu.
A new Carvel soft-serve ice cream stand is now in section 106 so be sure to stop by and try some of their delicious flavors!
Section 114 will now be home to Whey Station Loaded Tot's. Â Josh and Jillian Moskites, started the Whey Station in 2011 as a means to bring their favorite comfort food and culinary creations together. This new location offers a creative menu of Loaded Tot's and Draft Beer.
In section 120, fans will find The Market. The Market is a grab-and-go market place in the XL Center. Fans can find salads, sandwiches, soft drinks, snack items, and a large selection of handcrafted packaged beer.
