STORRS, Conn. – The second-ranked UConn women's basketball team (10-0) plays its final game in 2019 against Oklahoma (7-4) in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase Sunday in Mohegan Sun Arena. The teams will tip at 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network and the UConn IMG Sports Network on 97-9 ESPN.
The Huskies will be without head coach Geno Auriemma as he recovers from surgery last Wednesday to alleviate symptoms caused by diverticulitis. Associate head coach Chris Dailey will lead UConn on Sunday. In previous Auriemma absences, Dailey has helped the team to a 9-0 record.
The Huskies picked up their first ranked win of the season with an 84-74 victory over No. 16 DePaul last Monday. Junior Megan Walker led UConn with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore Olivia Nelson-Ododa talled a career-high 19 points while sophomore Christyn Williams notched her first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Since the 1993-94 season, the Huskies have posted a 288-24 (.922) record in non-conference play.
Auriemma earned his 1,000th career win vs. Oklahoma in Mohegan Sun Arena on Dec. 19, 2017. The Huskies are 12-0 all-time vs. the Sooners.
