No. 5 UConn to Host Temple in Pink Game Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The fifth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (20-2, 9-0 American) takes on Temple (8-14, 4-5) Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion. The game will be broadcast on SNY/ESPN3 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
The Huskies are coming off their most dominant win of the season, a 118-55 victory over ECU Wednesday. Senior Katie Lou Samuelson led UConn with 31 points while senior Napheesa Collier shot 10-for-10 from the field. Junior Crystal Dangerfield notched 12 assists in the game.
Saturday is UConn's annual Play4Kay Pink Game as the Huskies honor breast cancer survivors. The team is having an auction at www.uconnhuskies.com/PinkAuction to raise proceeds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
UConn is 95-0 in American Athletic Conference play since joining the league. The Huskies have won the conference's first five regular season and tournament titles. Including postseason play, UConn is 110-0 against American teams.
UConn is 12-2 all-time vs. Temple. The Huskies picked up an 88-67 win over the Owls on Jan. 19 in Philadelphia.
Temple has won its last four games, most recently a 76-65 win over Houston. The Owls are led by Mia Davis, who is averaging 19.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
