Adams Named USBWA All-District I For Third Time

ST. LOUIS – UConn senior guard Jalen Adams (Roxbury, Mass.) has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers' Association All-District I Team for the third time in his career, following a nationwide vote of its more than 900 USBWA members.
Adams and nine other players were recognized in District I, which encompasses all of New England. The USBWA names All-District Teams, as well as Players of the Year and Coaches of the Year for nine districts across the country.
Adams, who was named to the All-American Athletic Conference Third Team on Monday, leads the Huskies in scoring (16.9) for the third consecutive season. He is second in assists (3.3) and is the top free throw shooter on the team (.859) as the Huskies head into the AAC Championship later this week in Memphis, Tenn. He is also averaging 3.7 rebounds per game and is shooting .a solid .492 overall. Adams' career point total of 1,672 ranks 11th on UConn's all-time scoring list and his 503 assists ranks ninth. He is one of just two UConn players in history (Shabazz Napier) to reach 1,500 points and hand out 500 assists.
In the American, Adams is the sixth-leading scorer in the league (17.2) and his 12 assists against ECU is the high game in the conference in that category. He was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll six times during the season.
Joining Adams on the USBWA All-District I Team are: Bryce Aiken of Harvard, Ky Bowman of Boston College, Desmond Cambridge of Brown, Alpha Diallo of Providence, Anthony Lamb of Vermont, Cyril Langevine of Rhode Island, Miye Oni of Yale, Vasa Pusica of Northeastern and Cameron Young of Quinnipiac.
Lamb was named the District I Player of the Year and Vermont's John Becker was named the District I Coach of the Year.
