UConn, Buffalo to Meet in NCAA Second Round

STORRS, Conn. – The second-seeded UConn women's basketball team (32-2) faces 10th-seeded Buffalo (24-9) in the NCAA Second Round Sunday at 7 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion. The game will be aired on ESPN and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
The Huskies opened NCAA Tournament play with a 110-61 win over Towson Friday. Senior Napheesa Collier led UConn with 23 points and 14 rebounds for her 21st double-double of the season. Senior Katie Lou Samuelson returned to the lineup after missing four games and had 11 points, five rebounds and six assists vs. the Tigers.
UConn is 26-2 all-time in NCAA Second Round games. The Huskies have advanced to the Regional Rounds in the last 25 straight seasons.
Samuelson and Collier will play their last game at Gampel Pavilion Sunday. The duo are 35-0 in Storrs in their careers.
Junior Crystal Dangerfield enters Sunday's game with 992 career points and can become the 46th Husky all-time to reach 1,000.
UConn is 2-0 all-time vs. Buffalo.
Buffalo won the MAC Tournament to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Cierra Dillard leads the Bulls with 25.1 points per game while Summer Hemphill has the team lead with 10.5 rebounds per game.
