Sappington garners conference recognition

STORRS, Conn.—Redshirt-sophomore Olivia Sappington earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts during UConn's four games last week.
Sappington started all four contests at the designated player position in a single game versus Boston College and the weekend conference series at Houston. Through her 11 at bats she posted one run, on four hits, a pair of RBIs, one home run, a sacrifice fly, with a batting average of .364. She also had an on base percentage of .333 with a .636 slugging percentage.
This is the second time during Sappington's career that she has netted a position on the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll.
The Huskies are back home this week with a single nonconference match up against Central Connecticut State on Tuesday, April 16th and another conference series versus USF beginning on Thursday, Apr. 18th.
