Three Huskies Named to Team USA Traveling Rosters

LANCASTER, Pa. – Following training camps in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia, the USA Field Hockey Junior High Performance Staff and USWNT High Performance staff have revealed the rosters for Team USA's upcoming tours. Rising sophomore Lindsay Dickinson was named to the U.S. U-19 Women's National Team roster, rising junior Jessica Dembrowski was selected to the U.S. U-21 Women's National team roster and 2018 UConn alum Karlie Heistand was tabbed to the U.S. Women's National Development Squad roster.
The U-19 team will travel to Dusseldorf to take on Germany's U-18 team twice and Belgium's U-18 team once at the Dusseldorfer Hockey Club from April 14-22. The U-21 USWNT will travel April 17-24 to Monchengladbach, Germany for a 3 Nations Invitational with Germany's U-21 team and Great Britain's U-21 team, where they will play two games against each opponent at both the Viersener Tennis and Hockey Club and Warsteiner HockeyPark.
The U.S. Women's National Development Squad will travel to Netherlands from April 13-22 where they will play two games against the Scotland senior team, one against Belgium's U-21 team and the Stichtsche Cricket en Hockeyclub (SCHC) team at the AMHC Rood-Wit and SCHC.
The trio were named to their respective 24-player national teams in January. The teams were shortened to 18 players for each trip.
Dickinson was an immediate starter for the top-five Huskies as a freshman in 2018. She scored once and added two assists for the Huskies while helping the defense hold teams to just a 1.30 goals-against average. The Glenn Mills, Pa., native was a member of the 2018 U-19 National Team.
Dembrowski also started every game in her second season in Storrs. She totaled nine goals, three assists and 20 points in 2018. The Palmyra, Pa., native was a member of the 2016-17 U.S. Junior Indoor National Team.
Former Husky Karlie Heistand '18 was selected to the 2019 U.S. Women's National Development Team. Heistand, currently an assistant coach at Villanova, was an All-American and a two-time national champion at UConn.
