Jen McIntyre Will Not Return as Head Softball Coach

University of Connecticut director of athletics David Benedict has announced that he will seek new leadership for the UConn softball program. Â
"I would like to thank Coach McIntyre and her staff for their efforts over the last five years and wish them nothing but the best in the future," Benedict said.
"I am thankful for the opportunity to have served as the head coach at the University of Connecticut and I am proud of all of the progress the program has made since our arrival on campus five years ago," McIntyre said. "I am grateful to the alumni who have supported us throughout the years. We have made tremendous strides as we transitioned to the American Athletic Conference and I wish the student-athletes success as they continue in their careers."
McIntyre compiled a 95-163 overall record in her five years leading the Huskies, including a 24-68 mark in conference play.
A national search for the next head softball coach will begin immediately.
