Former Huskies Set for 2019 WNBA Season

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's basketball team has 18 former players on WNBA rosters ahead of the league's Opening Night Friday.
QUICK HITS
- UConn's most recent graduates Katie Lou Samuelson (Chicago) and Napheesa Collier (Minnesota) make their professional debuts this weekend against each other. Samuelson started both of the Sky's preseason games while Collier played 20+ minutes in each of the Lynx's preseason contests.
- The New York Liberty, Chicago Sky and Seattle Storm are stacked with former Huskies. The Liberty feature four UConn alums while the Sky and Storm each have three.
- A number of former Huskies will miss at least a portion of the 2019 season. Maya Moore and Breanna Stewart won't play this year while Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird and Moriah Jefferson will miss significant time to start the season.
- In a preseason GM survey, the Las Vegas Aces were picked as the favorites to win the WNBA Finals.
- Only three teams in the league don't have any Huskies on their rosters: Los Angeles Sparks, Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces.
