UConn FH Announces 2019 Schedule

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn field hockey team will once again have a challenging slate as head coach Nancy Stevens announced the team's 2019 schedule Monday.
All of UConn's home games will be played at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
The Huskies open the season at Stanford, competing against Northwestern on Saturday, Aug. 31, before taking on the Cardinal on Sept. 1. UConn opens its home slate against Rutgers on Friday, Sept. 6 before hosting Harvard on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Connecticut next has a four-game road trip. The Huskies face Michigan on Friday, Sept. 13 and they take on Michigan State on Sunday, Sept. 15. The following weekend, UConn opens BIG EAST Conference play at Quinnipiac on Friday, Sept. 20 and travels to Princeton on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The Huskies return to Storrs to host Old Dominion Friday, Sept. 27 and Boston University on Sunday, Sept. 29. UConn travels to the Mid-Atlantic to face off against Temple on Friday, Oct. 4 and at Maryland on Sunday, Oct. 6.
The Huskies host Providence on Friday, Oct. 11, and Delaware on Sunday, Oct. 13. After a trip to Villanova on Friday, Oct. 18, UConn takes on Syracuse in Storrs on Sunday, Oct. 20.
UConn plays its final road game of the regular season at Liberty on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Huskies conclude the regular season at home against Georgetown on Friday, Nov. 1 and UMass on Sunday, Nov. 3.
The Huskies will take a short trip to Quinnipiac for the BIG EAST Championship Nov. 8-10. NCAA play kicks off Nov. 15-17 at campus sites while the Final Four will be held at Wake Forest Nov. 22-24.
UConn returns eight starters to the field from last season's team, including seniors Antonia Tiedtke and Svea Boker. Two returning starters, Jessica Dembrowski and Lindsay Dickinson, spent time with U.S. Junior National teams this summer. The Huskies will be backlined by Cheyenne Sprecher, who was the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year in 2018.
The Huskies have won three NCAA Championships in the last six seasons and have competed in five Final Fours in that span. UConn has won the last six BIG EAST regular season championships and the last seven conference tournament titles.
