Hamilton Representing England in EuroHockey Junior Championship

VALENCIA, Spain – Incoming UConn field hockey freshman Sophie Hamilton is currently representing England at the 2019 EuroHockey Junior Championships.

The championship runs July 13-21. England is in Pool B with Belgium, Belarus and Germany while Pool A consists of Spain, France, Ireland, Netherlands and Russia.

England opened tournament play with a 1-1 draw against Belgium Monday before falling to Germany 3-1 Tuesday. England faces Belarus Thursday.

Despite just graduating from high school, Hamilton is on England's U-21 National Team.

Hamilton was previously a member of England's U-16 and U-18 National Teams.
