Hall’s Hat Trick Leads No. 23 UConn to 3-1 Victory at URI

KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior transfer Jordan Hall recorded a hat trick and classmate Dayonn Harris dished out two assists as UConn dominated URI en route to a 3-1 road win over the Rams Tuesday night.
Despite controlling the majority of the opening half, it was Rhode Island that jumped on the scoreboard first. URI gathered a cross-field pass to the left of the net and gained just enough of an advantage to sneak the ball past the keeper and take the early advantage.
Jordan Hall answered the bell for UConn, knotting the score at one 15 minutes later. After Ahdan Tait's serve off the corner kick got lost in traffic, Hall collected the ball and rocketed one past the keeper at 19:47.
Hall struck again in the 42nd-minute for his second goal of the half. On a throw-in, Dayonn Harris lobbed a beautiful ball towards the back of the box that Hall leapt up and headed home, putting the Huskies ahead, 2-1.
The Huskies extended it advantage to two goals at 61:33 on another Harris-Hall connection. Harris served up a beautiful ball towards the left side of the field that Hall, in mid stride, jumped up and booted into the back of the net for a 3-1 UConn lead.
UConn moves to 2-0 on the season while the Rams drop to 0-1-1.

- Jordan Hall registered three goals earn his first hat trick at UConn – he now has five goals in two games for the Huskies. Classmate Dayonn Harris contributed two assists while junior transfer Ahdan Tait added one of his own.
- UConn has won the last 14 matchups against Rhode Island.
