Tiedtke Named NFHCA National Defensive Player of the Week

GILBERT, Ariz. โ Senior back Antonia Tiedtke was tabbed the NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the association Wednesday.
Tiedtke helped lead the fourth-ranked Huskies to two top-25 wins in the first weekend of the season.ย Tiedtke helped limit ranked opponents to just 13 shots and three goals on the weekend. She helped anchor a defense that held Northwestern to seven shots, Stanford to six.
Tiedtke also helped offensively with four points off one goal and two assists. In a 4-1 win over No. 15 Northwestern, Tiedkte tallied an assist on a penalty corner goal. Against No. 21 Stanford, she had an assist on the tying goal at 40:16 and scored the game winner at 53:20.
She was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The fourth-ranked Huskies open their 2019 home schedule Friday vs. No. 19 Rutgers at 6 p.m. at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
