No. 3 UConn, No. 23 Tennessee to Meet in Basketball HOF Revival Series

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 3 UConn women's basketball team (16-1) will play No. 23 Tennessee (15-3) for the first time in 13 years Thursday when the teams compete in the Basketball Hall of Fame Revival Series. The game will tip at 7 p.m. in the XL Center on ESPN and the UConn IMG Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
Thursday is a WHITE OUT and fans coming to the game are encouraged to wear white.
As part of a two-year series, UConn will travel to Tennessee next season. UConn will make a donation in-game to the Pat Summitt Foundation while a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
UConn is 13-9 all-time vs. Tennessee, although the Lady Vols won the last three meetings in 2005, '06 and '07. UConn and Tennessee have been ranked in every game between the two teams.
The Huskies are coming off their largest scoring margin of the season with a 92-34 win over Tulsa last Sunday. Junior Megan Walker led UConn with 24 points. Freshman Anna Makurat, UConn's first player from Poland, broke out for a season-high 21 points with four three pointers. The Huskies held Tulsa to 25.9 percent shooting from the field and single digit points in three quarters.
UConn will return to the XL Center next Monday to host the U.S. Women's National Team in an exhibition at 7 p.m. Former Huskies Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Katie Lou Samuelson, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi will suit up for Team USA. UConn will host its 2009 and 2010 National Championship reunions at the exhibition.
